It will take you years, you may never complete it and some may never be journalled, but give it a try.
You don't have to set yourself a time limit, just do as many as you can before you die!
To participate in this challenge:
1) Reply to this thread
2) Start a word document, web page, blog or virtual BC book to keep track of your books & countries.
3) Contact Wyando so he can add you to the list of participants
4) Start finding addresses and sending books!
The list of participants is here:
http://www.honchun.com/---/233books

You can also use this thread to notify of countries completed.
And don't forget that any/all books you send as part of your Lifetime challenge can also be counted for the current "Around The World Challenge", which attempts to complete every country in the world every year (it's a group effort). Website: http://www.geocities.com/---/global.htm
If you need an address for a particular country and can't find one, feel free to post a request in this thread and we will help you out.
My Progress can be seen at:
LTC (Lifetime Challenge)

An ongoing wishlist release challenge by Felicia-fairy

An ongoing wishlist release challenge by Felicia-fairy(signed up 02/06/07)

An ongoing wishlist release challenge
Why not send some books to people you know will really appreciate the gesture?
You will be surprised which of your books pop up as a wish when you search on cliff1976's website.
I challenge everyone to find some new homes for the books by searching the wishlist site.
1. I have piles everywhere- on shelves, in my clothes drawers, under the bed and tucked away in a cupboard. I need space- so the books have to be reduced in size and number.
I know some of you have been doing this month by month this year (2006) but I am going public to keep myself honest.

I would like to reduce it by at least half. Below is a list of all the books on my shelf as at the 1st of November 2006 – I will update this list on 30th December and start the challenge January 1st. it also appears on my bookshelf.

I read on average 100+ books a year – so I should be able to reduce this pile by half, and still have room spare for "free" reading. I am only including books that have been obtained by me on a permanent basis – not book rings or rays which I class as temporary dwellers on my shelves.

I am going to post once a month how I am going – probably on the 1st of each month – as is an easy date to remember. If anyone else would like to join me in this challenge, please feel free to post below! I am doing this alone or with friends- I have to do something to get my pile under control.

My Rules
1. I am only including books that are on my shelf as at 1st January 2007 that have been sent to me by another reader (either Bxer or PBS).
2. I must read three books from my TBR list before I can add to it (this does not include bookrings as they are not permanent additions)
3. I will have fun: )
4. When 2007 is over- I will heaps of room to get more books- LOL!!!

Conroy, Pat – Beach Music (NA 2007 Convention BB)
Andrews, V. If you would like to participate, please post here. I am not going to compile a list of participants. Your post here will indicate you are participating instead.
Here is the link to the 2006 Keep Them Moving Challenge if you are wondering what it is.
http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/194

Here is a quick run down of what this challenge is about-
This challenge is to read and move on books that you have received from other bookcrossers. The rules:
1. Any book that another BCer registered and that you obtain counts toward the challenge (rings, rays, boxes, wild releases, trades, relays, audio, etc,). As long as you are passing on a book from another BCer, it can count. You can not register the book yourself and count it.
2. You have to read the entire book before releasing it. Other challenges exist to just release books. This isn't about moving on masses of unread books, thus the "read first" rule.
3. You can release it any way you choose.
4. It doesn't matter when you received the book, but it does have to be read/released in 2007.
5. If you know how, put a link to the book you release in a thread I will set up for that purpose. It is good to number your releases as you post them so that we all get an idea of how many are being moved on. If you don't know how to put a link, you can just put the title.
6. If you participated in 2006, please restart the count back to one release in 2007. There is an explanation for why here:
http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/3989007

Also, I will start a new thread for this each month in 2007. I was not anticipating the wonderful response I got to this thread in 2006 and I know the thread got too unwieldy for some to open at one point. Hopefully a new thread each month will keep that under control.

You can post any other questions here. I will start a new thread for posting your entries to the challenge as we approach the new year.
I will have some sort of prizes, not sure what. The prizes are awarded randomly and not based on number released.

#1 CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Serial(BookRing)
#2 Asleep(BookRay)
#3 The Frugal Gourmet on Our Immigrant Ancestors(BookRing)
#4 Book Lust(BookRing)
#5 There is a Tide(Christie Spiral)
#6 Towards Zero(Christie Sprial)
#7 The Piano Shop on the Left Bank(BookRing)
#8 Love Junkie(Bookring)
#9 The Things They Carried (BookRay)
#10 A Lesson Before Dying(BookRay)

Updated 06.12.2007

Categorical Acceptance Challenge (2007) by Trekwoman

Categorical Acceptance Challenge (2007) by Trekwoman (signed up 11/20/06)

Currently we have forty one options from which to choose when registering our books here on Bookcrossing. For this challenge, you will register, READ and release at least one book for each of those categories.
Start Date: January 1st, 2007
End Date: September 29th, 2007
Fine print:
- Books may not be those already registered on your shelf. Yes, that means you'll need to go out and hit those thrift stores, charity shops, garage sales, library sack sales, boot sales, raid your friends' closets, gift cards to Borders, whatever you need to do to pick up some "new" material. Ach, you know you were going to do it anyway, so now you've an excellent excuse to do so. :: whistles innocently, tosses four books into basket: :
- Caveat: You may use a book registered by another member but obtained only after the challenge has begun. If you have unregistered books on *your personal pile* of books, wait and register them after the 1st and then they'll count.
- Caveat #2: I realize that not everyone uses the following categories: audiobooks, audiodownloads, computers and internet, e-books, journals. These (and only these) may be used as substitution categories. Example: substitution of one Sci-fi book for the Journal category is acceptable. Make a note of this in your journal entry and your post here.
Caveat #3: For the foreign language category, you may use books that were originally written in a different language and then translated into your own.
The Categories:
Arts and Photography
1 AudioBooks -
Ya-Ya’s In Bloom by Rebecca Wells (READ)
2 Audio Downloads -
Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff by Richard Carlson(READ)
3 Biographies and Memoirs - -
Lucky Man by Michael J.
